Strategic Procurement
PX Engineering provided the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management for a new build Hand Sanitiser Plant based at Newton Aycliffe.
The project value was approximately £17.5m and was completed over an approximate schedule of 9 months.
About the Project
Johnson Procurement Solutions Limited were contracted by PX Engineering to provide Project Procurement to ensure the effective selection and placing of contracts in regard to the Major Equipment and Subcontract Packages.
JPS Project Procurement Support...
In order to achieve these goals JPS completed the following:
1. Development of a Procurement Strategy specifically for the project.
2. Working with PX Engineering’s existing procurement department, established a list of vendors for all key equipment, subcontractors required for the project packages.
3. Compiled and issued all Invitation to Tender documentation in line with the client and project requirements. Managed all bid reviews with the project team and successfully negotiated all project contractual terms to ensure suitable credit terms and risks were mitigated.
4. Developed and managed the daily procurement schedule to ensure, Equipment and Subcontract packages were placed within the project forecasted timescales.
5. Produced weekly reporting for the project senior management team. Detailing all procurement activities within the period and highlighting all potential areas of risk or concern to the project.
6. Negotiated and obtained 10% buying targets in excess of the project expectations.
