For almost a decade, we’ve been quietly supporting some of the UK’s most complex and high-value infrastructure projects. From energy transition to major engineering developments, our team here at Johnson Procurement Solutions (JPS) has been at the centre of projects that are shaping both regional and national progress.
Now, in the latest issue of Tees Business Magazine (Issue 43), we’re shining a light on some of our key projects, showcasing how smart, hands-on procurement and commercial support can drive projects forward on time, within budget, and with the right strategic oversight at every stage.
Teesside Gas & Liquids Processing (TGLP), 2025 Outage
We were appointed to provide commercial support for the 2025 Outage Project at Teesside Gas & Liquids Processing (TGLP), a major regional project with an approved £4 million budget.
Our remit spans front-end budget development, cost control, quantity surveying and forecasting, working directly with TGLP’s senior management team. We also deliver monthly commercial updates at steering group meetings, helping to keep the project aligned, accountable and on track for successful delivery.
66kV Infrastructure Project – PX Engineering, TGPP at Seal Sands
At the Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP), PX Engineering delivered a £16 million, 24-month infrastructure upgrade to introduce a new 66kV power system.
We were brought on board to lead procurement and commercial services throughout the full project lifecycle. Our team developed the main contract documentation under NEC3 Option A, shaped the procurement strategy, and managed all tender processes for critical packages, from equipment supply to contractor appointments.
Our role extended beyond procurement; we managed daily scheduling, supplier negotiations, weekly reporting, and post-contract commercial control, including payment management and forecasting right through to completion.
Liverpool Bay (T&S), HyNet North West
As part of the UK’s net-zero mission, the Liverpool Bay T&S Project marks a major milestone in carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure.
We were awarded a commercial support contract by United Utilities to provide procurement and commercial services for critical pipeline and infrastructure packages within the HyNet cluster. Our work covered everything from market engagement and supplier qualification to contract development and ongoing commercial oversight, ensuring delivery excellence across a complex, multi-stakeholder programme.
WSP, High Protein Feed Plant Project
At a leading bioethanol manufacturing facility on Teesside, we supported WSP in delivering a new High Protein Feed Plant as part of an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) project.
Working closely with WSP’s engineering team, we led all procurement activities, from strategy development and vendor engagement to managing capital equipment orders and installation contracts. Our focus throughout was on keeping procurement on schedule, controlling budgets, and mitigating commercial risks at every stage.
Delivering Impact Behind the Scenes
From renewable energy infrastructure to complex plant upgrades, we continue to demonstrate how expert procurement and commercial management underpin successful project delivery.
With a track record built on precision, collaboration and accountability, we’re proving that procurement isn’t just a back-office function, it’s a critical driver of high-performing project delivery.
