Johnson Procurement Solutions Ltd (JPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Johnson as Associate Director, further strengthening the firm’s senior leadership and broadening its capability across complex procurement and commercial programmes in the UK and internationally.


Mark is a highly experienced procurement and commercial executive with more than 30 years’ experience leading major programmes across government, critical national infrastructure and global telecommunications. His career has taken him across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, where he has consistently operated at board and executive level on high-value, strategically important initiatives.


Within the UK public sector, Mark has held senior commercial positions with the Home Office, NHS England, Defra and the Environment Agency. He has led multi-year, multi-supplier procurement and commercial programmes, often across portfolios in excess of £100 million. Most recently, as a Commercial Lead for the Home Office Future eGates Programme, supporting the procurement of the next-generation border control technology, resulting in the successful award of a £60 million contract, delivering significant operational and commercial benefits.


Alongside his public sector work, Mark has built a substantial international track record in the telecommunications industry. As Head of Procurement and Contract Management for Ooredoo Oman, a £500 million turnover operator, he transformed the procurement function and directed strategic sourcing and contract management activity across major technology and infrastructure programmes. His leadership underpinned initiatives such as national network modernisation, fixed-line expansion and large-scale infrastructure deployment across the Middle East. He has also held senior roles with organisations including Orange, Virgin Media, DU and Zain Group.


Throughout his career, Mark has been recognised for his strategic judgement, commercial governance expertise and ability to bring structure and assurance to complex, high-stakes environments. He combines deep knowledge of procurement strategy, contract management, supplier performance and risk mitigation with a collaborative leadership style that supports cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders alike. His work has consistently focused on strengthening commercial resilience, improving operational outcomes and delivering clear, defensible value in settings where scrutiny and consequence are high.


As Associate Director at JPS, Mark will advise clients on major capital programmes, procurement strategy and end-to-end commercial execution, with a particular focus on complex, multi-party and regulated environments. His appointment reinforces JPS’s commitment to providing clients with senior-level expertise and rigorous commercial discipline across every stage of the procurement lifecycle.
